Municipal Records
Municipal records are submitted to the Office of the Secretary of State by Wisconsin’s
towns, villages, cities and counties. Records
examples include incorporation papers,
annexations, corporate boundaries, maps, and litigation correspondence. Some records
are more than 100 years old. If a record cannot be located in the Secretary of State’s
database, a search of the Archives at the Wisconsin State Historical Society is
suggested.
